This is an exerpt from my Protocals.ctl for MPT Puma.
Excuse the Non-standard Max directory.. I built the new directory with my old
version running until I got 2.00 online. Also the screen wrapped right
before the @ in the DOWNLOADCMD Line. This confog has been tested and works
like a champ. Just be sure to run MPTSET to setup your BBS MPT Puma
executable.
If you're running the OLD PUMA. Sorry, Dunno about that one.

Well I use Zmodem and I have tried Xmodem also.. Both will cause a crash..
Also this hardware has been on-line for about 2.5 yrs now with never any kind
of issue.. Running both DOS and OS/2... Currently I am back to DOS while
trying to get this working... I don't buy a hardware problem because it has
worked with 1.02 for over a year under DOS, and I have have replaced
EVERYTHING including the motherboard with other equipment (I have 5 on-line
and working machines here in the house ranging from 286/20mhz to
486/25mhz..). The Max/Binkley stuff lives out on my 386 novell server and has
(up until the upgrade) run just fine for many years (Opus before Max, Fido
before Opus). Other than changing to Novell 3.11 from 2.15 last year the
system has always run from the server (i.e No hard drive in the bbs machine).
A friend of mine has OS/2 with Max 2.0 and has had a similar problem. I can
go backwards to 1.02 and the system is fine...
I also just found if I do a RAW search on the system from the FILES area, it
will also lock up the machine. I think that there may be something wrong
here... Some tiny little quirk that may not show up except maybe with the
novell shell extensions... (Scott.. Are you out there ??) Are you aware of
anything that may cause this ??? I have tried all 4 versions of the net
shells that I have.
Rich
