is used when you create a new area in this group.

#topic(Group Definition Editor)
#title(Group Definition)
This help topic describes the fields present in WtrConf when editing
a Group Definition.

#subtopic(GrpEdit Description)
#title(Description)
Enter a short description concerning the areas stored in this group.
This information is given to the users by AreaFix and Newsfix.

#subtopic(GrpEdit DefaultOriginAKA)
#title(Default Origin AKA)
Select the default system node number selected for areas
that are created in this group.

#subtopic(GrpEdit ReadOnly)
#title(Read-only group)
Put this toggle to YES to make the areas in this group only
available as read-only areas. Users subscribing to areas in this
group cannot post messages in the area. WaterGate will simply
trash their write attempts.

Note that areas can be in more than one group at once, allowing
to have the same area available normally (read/write) as well as
read-only. The distinction is made from the users point of view:
if he or she can subscribe the area as read/write, postings are
allowed.

If the area is available both as read/write and read-only,
postings are allowed.

; GrpEdit MoveGroup SelectNewGroup

#topic(GrpEdit MoveGroup SelectNewGroup)
#title(New group selection)
Select the new position where you want to move the group to.

WtrConf will ask whether you are sure about this, before
continuing.

#topic(GrpEdit MoveGroup AreYouSure)
#title(Old group definition will be overwritten)
You must now confirm that you are really sure to overwrite
the group you have just selected.

The old group definition will then be copied to this position,
whereafter the old group definition is erased.
#end

; GrpEdit MoveGroup MoveUserAccessAsWell
;
#topic(GrpEdit MoveGroup MoveUserAccessAsWell)
#title(Move user access as well?)
You can now decided whether you want to move user access
when the group is moved.

If you select Yes, then all users currently having access
to the old group, have that group removed from their access
list and the new group added. Access to all other groups
remains in place. This is advisable if you simply want to
change the group code, but keep the rest in place.

If you select No, then the user records are not changed
and all users keep their old access.

Users that already have access to the new group keep that
access. This is not checked.
#end

one group, then all the other groups remain in place.
This is advisable if you simply want to change the group

You can use the following keys here:

#hl(Escape) - Return to main menu
 #hl(Cursor keys) - Select group
 #hl(Enter) - Edit the definition
#hl(F2) - Move group to new position (see below)

#subtopic(GrpEdit MoveGroupExplanation)
#title(Moving a group to a new position)
When you move a group then WtrConf can automatically move
users and areas as well. Users with access to the old
group can be moved to the new group and areas currently
part of the old group can be moved to the new group. Neither
users nor areas loose access to other groups.

Put the cursor on the group you want to move and press F2.
WtrConf will ask if you are sure, whether you want to move
user access and whether you want to move the areas.
