The LPX 2020 is a 20 ppm (page per minute) laser LED printer with
HP PCL emulation and up to 300 dots per inch resolution. An
optional networking card lets you serially network up to 8 users.
A PostScript card with a National Semiconductor math coprocessor
and 35 PostScript fonts is optionally available.

Key to performance is said to be the National Semiconductor
32-bit embedded processor, the 32GX32, which is rated at 15 MIPS.
This enables the controller to keep pace with the 20 ppm printer
engine.

The ALPS proprietary LED engine is rated at more than 12 million
prints, or 1600 prints per day for 30 years. It has no moving
parts or rotating mirrors.

Standard are 2 megabytes of RAM (upgradable to 8), 34 resident
bit-mapped fonts, two input trays adjustable for one ream of
legal- or letter-size paper, and face-down printing for automatic
collation.

You have a choice of parallel, serial, RS-422, or SCSI ports.
AppleTalk is supported on the PostScript emulation card and can
be connected through the RS-422 port.

Price: $7495, networking card, $749, PostScript, $1395.
