Securit-E-Mail is a NetWare-compatible electronic mail system
that features more security than any of the existing electronic
mail packages and isn't any more cumbersome, Simpact Associates
claims. It's also based on X.400 and will be compatible when the
standard is complete, according to Simpact.

Among its many features, it limits access to your message to only
users with proper authorization, it lets you know what happens to
your messages once they reach their destinations, it lets you
know if messages don't arrive exactly as they've been sent, and
it lets you know for certain who sent you particular messages.

Three techniques of protection are included: privacy encryption,
access controls, and disposition controls. The privacy feature is
based on RSA Data Security's public key/private key encryption
system, which encrypts the message with a public key that matches
the recipient's private key. Both keys are necessary to open the
lock that holds the private mail message. Access controls ensure
that the message is delivered only to users with proper
authorization. And disposition controls allow you to control the
recipient's use of the message, whether he or she can print it or
store it electronically, for examples.

Price: $7500.
