ALR claims its newest MicroFlex 3300 series of computers has
better graphics, is generally faster, and is less-expensive than
IBM's 25-MHz Model 70-A61.

All 3300 models come standard with 2 megabytes of 60-nanosecond
RAM (expandable to 64 megabytes on the bus). They also support an
80387 or 3167 coprocessor, a 128K-byte SRAM cache, a 640 by 480
VGA driver. Each system has seven MCA-compatible slots, including
two 32-bit, two standard 16-bit, two 16-bit video, and one 64-bit
proprietary memory slot. The BIOS is Phoenix, and the standard
system has one 1.44-megabyte floppy-disk drive and a 101-key
keyboard.

Models 70 and 120 are desktop systems with 18-millisecond
70-megabyte and 18-millisecond 120-megabyte hard disk drives. The
systems measure 18- by 6- by 15-inches and each has a 200-watt
power supply.

The remaining three models are tower systems, which measure
18- by 23- by 7-inches. Models 150, 340H, and 650H have hard-disk
drives with capacities to match their model numbers, with average
seek times of 18-, 16-, and 16-milliseconds, respectively. Each
tower system features a 300-watt power supply. Tower models 340H
and 650H have 32K-byte look-ahead cache memory.

All the systems can optionally support a 1024 by 768-pixel
graphics driver. Another graphics option, the Intelligent
Graphics System, is a bundled package based on the Texas
Instruments 34010 microprocessor engine and is available in your
choice of 15-inch color, 50-KHz monitor or 21-inch color,
50-KHz monitor.

Price: Model 70, $5795; Model 120, $7990; Model 150, $8990; Model
340H, $10990; Model 650H, $12990; Optional 1024 by 768 graphics,
$399; Optional IGS with 15-inch monitor, $3300; Optional IGS with
21-inch monitor, $5300.
