Disc Director is a new class of utility program that may forever
change the way you organize your hard disk, according to
International Data Security. The program eliminates problems such
as lost files, unknown directories, and illogical tree
structures, even on mature hard disk drives.

The menu-driven program eliminates wasted disk space by finding
unused duplicate files, empty and inefficient directories, and
orphan files. It is specifically designed to help you analyze,
plan, and implement a strategy of hard disk reorganization and to
turn a disorganized, hard-to-use tree structure into a
streamlined, logical tree in moments.

In addition to helping you reorganize your tree structures,
Disc Director helps eliminate wasted space. Features such as Find
All Duplicate Files and Show Me Inefficient Directories help you
reclaim hard disk space. In the case of Find Duplicates, the
program places the output of a search into a phantom directory,
which acts as a virtual directory that points to files wherever
they exist on the hard disk. When you combine this with the full
range of file options (e.g., browse, copy, move, erase, and
wipe), you can eliminate unneeded duplicates and keep only the
files that are useful. Disc Director also lets you attach com-
ments up to 78 characters long to directories, files, and drives.

Disc Director requires an IBM PC with 512K bytes of RAM, DOS
2.0, a hard disk drive, and a graphics adapter.
