A new version of System Architect, the CASE tool for structured
design analysis that runs under Microsoft Windows, will support
customized reporting and automated documentation, Popkin reports.
The new documentation preparation facility will let you integrate
graphics and reports in one documentation package.

System Architect 2.0, scheduled to ship in December 1989,
combines diagramming, checks for rule compliance and balancing,
and a dictionary/encyclopedia in one package. With the new
reporting system, you can generate a database containing the
displayed report data. Matrix reporting, one of several new
beporting types, lets you perfrom matrix analysis of all
WV-Xdata while satisfying many of the reporting
requirements of Department of Defense 2167A, Popkin says.

Future versions, scheduled for first half 1990 delivery, will
include an OS/2 Presentation Manager version, a SQL server
interface, schema generation, and interfaces to code
generators.

System Architect 2.0 runs on an IBM PC AT with Microsoft Windows,
640K bytes of RAM, a Microsoft-compatible mouse, and a hard disk
drive. The program is available in network and merge versions.

Price: $1395; Booch Object Oriented Diagramming option, $495.
