The T1000SE is low-end laptop that's designed as an upgrade to
Toshiba's popular T1000, though Toshiba will continue to sell the
T1000.

The new machine is a 9.54-MHz 80C86 laptop that weighs only 6
pounds and comes with 1 megabyte RAM (internal), a 3.5-inch 1.44
MB floppy disk drive, a backlit LCD, and an 82-key keyboard. The
AC adapter weighs 11 oz; batteries last 4 hours.

Options include your choice of a 1- or 2-megabyte RAM
memory-card, bringing total RAM to 2 or 3 megabytes. There's no
room, however, for a hard-disk drive.

Price: $1699.

An SX Laptop With Up to 13 Megabytes RAM
The T3100SX is a 16-MHz laptop system that weighs 16 pounds and
comes standard with a 40-megabyte 25-millisecond hard-disk drive
and a 1.44-megabyte 3.5-inch floppy-disk drive.

The standard T3100SX has a 86-key keyboard, DOS 4.01,
Quarterdeck's Expanded Memory Manager 386, and 1 megabyte of RAM
(that's expandabla to 13 megabytes).

The display is the standard Toshiba backlit black-on-amber. Or if
you want to view the laptop monitor while demonstrating
something, the external monitor hookup allows such simultaneous
viewing. Another feature lets you save battery life beyond the
3-hour-minimum that Toshiba promises. It's called AutoResume.
When you turn off the system, the state of the machine is saved
in the CMOS memory. Turn it back on later, and you'll be exactly
where you left off. The T3100SX will ship in December.

Price: $5995.
