The Amiga 2500/30 features custom sound, animation, and graphics
chips in a 68030 system for multimedia presentations, according
to Commodore. There are also options for MS-DOS and Unix hardware
and software compatibility.
 
The 2500/30 comes standard with a 25-MHz 68030 processor and 2
megabytes of 32-bit RAM expandable to 4. In addition, the system
has a 25-MHz 68882 math coprocessor, a 68851 memory management
unit, a 3.5-inch 880K-byte floppy-disk drive, a 40-megabyte
hard-disk drive, and an autobooting SCSI hard disk controller.
Ports include one parallel, one RS-232C serial, and two RCA-type
audio output jacks for stero sound. Expansion slots include two
XT, two AT, five Amiga, and one video slot.
 
Two optional XT and AT bridgeboards let you add MS-DOS and Unix
hardware and software through Amiga's multitasking operating
system. The 4.77-MHz 8088 bridgeboard includes 512K bytes of RAM.
The 8-MHz 80386 bridgeboard includes 1 megabyte of RAM.
