Precision this week announced the release of Superbase 4, a
relational database management system for Microsoft Windows.
Superbase 4 includes a database management language and a form
designer. It supports the Windows Dynamic Data Exchange and lets
you develop applications that are form- or program-based;
programs can call forms and vice-versa, Precision reports. With
Superbase 4, you can import external image files and include them
with your data.

Precision says the RDBMS lets you report on Superbase and dBase
files simultaneously through SQL-type clauses. With the forms
designer, you can create business forms that integrate directly
with the database. The form designer lets you combine patterns,
text, images, radio buttons, check boxes, and lines.

Superbase 4 runs on the IBM PC AT with 640K bytes of RAM and a
hard disk drive. It imports and exports TIFF, dBase, 1-2-3,
Excel, and ASCII files. It also supports TIFF, PCX, IMG,
Windows WMF, and CCITT FAX Group III files. Precision says SQL
Server and OS/2 Presentation Manager versions are planned, but
the release date for them is undecided.

Price: $695; five-user LAN pack, $995.
