Richmond Software says a new version of its Maximizer contact
management software program will let you set up client lists
with up to 10 different columns, letting you sort by one primary
and up to nine secondary categories. The company says the
selection logic of version 2.0, scheduled for March 1990
shipment, lets you search client and contact fields by ranges
and wildcard characters. You can base selection lists on
descriptions, name, client ID, notes, and other criteria,
including "not equal to."

Richmond revamped the program's editor to support bold,
underline, italics, centering, justification, page breaks, and
other editing functions. Client and contact names can be inserted
into a letter, note, or diary via Maximizer's paste buffer.

In the day-at-a-glance portion of the program, you can add, move,
print, or delete groups of appointments. Maximizer 2.0 supports
macro commands and integrates MaxCalc, the company's business
calculator, letting you calculate payments anywhere in the
program. And for workaholics, the calendar supports 24-hour days.

Maximizer 2.0 works on the IBM PC with a hard disk drive.
Maximizer Series 911, which is available now, lets you build hot
lists and telephone directories faster than the previous version
because it doesn't use pre-image files.

Price: Maximizer 2.0: $249; network version, $695; Series 911,
$195 and $495.
