Philips has added the new PX4010, an IBM AT-compatible module
based on a 10-MHz 80286 CPU, to its VMEbus range of automation
modules. The module offers full IBM functionality within the
VMEbus environment and lets you use most current IBM PC operating
systems, including DOS, OS/2, and Xenix.

The PX4010 has a standalone configuration that includes 1.64
megabytes of system RAM; a graphics adapter for CGA, EGA, and
Hercules standards; an on-board controller for floppy and hard
disk drives; plus a keyboard interface, a real-time clock, a
Centronics parallel port, and two RS-232C/RS-422 serial ports.

The module also incorporates an IBM XT system bus that lets you
connect standard IBM PC extension cards to meet specific
requirements, such as those for communications and special device
drivers.
